Now I Know A Bit Of
Computer Processing Clip Art In
Ten Steps:
(1)
To insert Clip Art
into a word document, place the
cursor where you want the image to go.
Go to the Insert menu, select
Picture and click on Clip Art.
A column appears down the right-hand
side of the screen with a Clip Art
search facility at the top.

To find a specific
image, type a key word into the ?Search
text? box then click Search. Any
images matching your criteria will then
be displayed. When you hover the cursor
over on an image that interests you, a
toolbar appears. Click on the toolbar
and a pop-op menu is displayed.

To insert the image
into your document, click on the
Insert option in the pop-op menu. To
resize it, while keeping it in
proportion, click on one of the corner
handles and drag it to the required
size.

Click on your image
then go to the Format menu and
click on Picture, then the
Layout tab, or click on the Text
Wrapping button in the picture
toolbar. Select ?Square?. Any text you
type into your document will now appear
to the right of the image. To move the
image, click on it and drag it to the
correct position.

T0 put a frame round
the image, click on Line Style
button on the Picture toolbar and select
a line width from the menu. You can also
give your line a dashed effect by
clicking on More Lines and
choosing an effect in the Dashed box of
the Format Picture dialogue box.

To give your image a
background colour, click on the Line
Style button and select More
Lines or go to the Format
menu, click on Picture and the
Color and lines tab. Select a fill
colour. To get rid of your frame and
background colour,
select No Fill and No Lone
in the two Color boxes.

If you want to shape
text closely around the image, click on
the
Text Wrapping
toolbar button
and select Tight. To adjust the
Wrap, click on Edit Wrap Points
from the Text Wrapping menu. Click on
the points that appear and drag them
accordingly.

You can crop your
image, that is, remove part of it. Click
on the Crop toolbar button then
on the image. Drag a handle into the
image to crop out the areas you don?t
want, then click the Crop button
again. To restore the image, click the
Crop button and pull the handle
back out.

If you select
Behind Text from the Text Wrapping
menu, the text will appear on top of the
image. This can look messy but you can
make the text stand out by reducing the
vibrancy of the image. Click on the
image, then the Image Control
button and select
Without.

To centre your text on
the top of the image, highlight the text
and click on the Center button on
the main toolbar. Then drag the image to
sit below the text.

on-line:
To insert Clip Art from the internet, go
to the INSERT menu, select then click
on Clip Art. Click ON CLIPS ONLINE at
the bottom of the column that appears on
the right-hand side of the screen. This
launches an internet browser window.
Type in a search term and browse the
images . When you find an image, right
click on it and go to SAVE PICTURE AS in
the pop-up menu.
